Since changes to the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation 1981 on 1 October 2013, HSE no longer approves first aid training and qualifications – or first aid training providers.
Overview The First Aid at Work Refresher course provides employees with updates on first aid protocols and the skills necessary to deal with a range of injuries and potentially life-threatening situations.
In both cases, the new certificate will run from the expiry date of the current certificate. Crusaider First Aid is an approved Paediatric First Aid Training School and we run the two-day initial course for new first aiders and also the one-day course for those already holding a certificate.
HSE strongly recommends that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training, over half a day, during any three-year certification period.
Although not mandatory, this will help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first-aid procedures.
This course is run over two days (minimum of 12 hours) and can be run in-house for up to 12 delegates or individuals can attend our open courses.
